Sketch Saturday #309
Last week just flew by, and it's already time for a new sketch at Sketch Saturday!
This week's sketch was designed by my talented friend, Debra...
...and we are sponsored again by Simon Says Stamp, offering up a $25 Gift Certificate to one lucky winner!
Now, I must admit, this sketch had me completely stumped! I emailed Deb, ready to give up, when she suggested clouds in place of the flower element on the sketch. Brilliant! And lucky me, I have a soft spot for weather themed stamps and dies, so I had just the right supplies to pull something together. It's a bit of a stretch on the sketch, but at least I came up with something, right? ;)
The sun and cloud dies are from Lil' Inker Designs. I stamped a cute little face onto the sun from a stamp set that is (sadly) now retired from C.C. Designs. The sentiment is also from C.C. Designs, called Lucky Sentiments.
Supplies: Hammermill White CS, Wausau Black CS, Doodlebug Hip Hip Hooray 6x6, Bazzill Banana Split CS,
Versafine Onyx Black Ink, Lil' Inker Designs Cloud and Sun Dies, MFT Notebook Edge Die
And I didn't use even a single Copic, can you believe it?! Although, I wish I had added some rosey color to the suns "cheeks"!
Now be sure to check out the line up from the Saturday Girls over on the Sketch Saturday Blog.
I can't wait to see what everyone creates with this sketch!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
YNS Fun Friday - Thank You!
It's Friday, and that means the YNS Design Team has more Fun Friday inspiration coming your way!
If you're not familiar with Fun Friday, it's our monthly sketch/inspiration challenge, with weekly inspiration posts. If you join in, you have the chance of winning a $20 YNS Gift Certificate!
My mojo has been hiding lately... I have been sick quite a bit, and my creativie side is suffering! So I went uber clean and simple this week, with a cute set of one-layer cards!
These were so fun and quick to make! I made 3.5 inch square cards from kraft cardstock to start, and stamped the little flower from Autumn Greetings in the corner. I stamped the flower a second time onto white cardstock, colored the center, and pieced it onto the kraft card. The border was drawn with a Copic multiliner, and I finished it off with a sentiment from Mommy To Be (I love this font!).
Supplies: Hammermill White CS, Neenah Desert Storm CS, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Copic Multiliner, Copics
Copics:
Flower Center - Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11, Y00
Leaves - YG17, YG25, YG01
Here are the sketch and inspiration photo we are working with this month...
...you can see I took my inspiration from the daisies in the photo, but you are free to use either the sketch or the photo, or even combine the two for your entry.
Hope you'll join the FUN!

Graduation season is quickly approaching, and I have a little one graduating kindergarten this year! This sketch was perfect to make a card for him using the sweet GradBoy from Whimsie Doodles. I found some fun and FREE digital paper from HarperFinch called School's Back Patterns 2. I colored the little grad with Copics, and popped him up in the center of teh card. The sentiment is also from Whimsie Doodles, but I think it must be retired, since I can't find it in the store...

(Second post today... for the YNS After Party, click here.)
Hi everyone! I'm back to let you know that a new challenge is up at the 2 Cute Ink Challenge Blog! The theme this time is...
MOTHER'S DAY!
We want to see your creations celebrating those special mom's in your life... and Heidi has some sweet new images in the 2 Cute Ink Store if you need a little something to get you started!
I used the new Sweet Honey Bee on my card... she's a cutie, and is really great for any occasion! I paired her up with some papers from the October Afternoon Sidewalks pad, colored her with Copics to match, and glittered up her wings. I have some serious woes with glitter... I love the stuff, but can't find one that really shines in my photos... well, I just might have found one... I tried out Doodlebug Sugar Coating Glitter in Lily White, and I *think* I like it!
Supplies: Hammermill White CS, Wausau Black CS, Neenah Desert Storm CS, OA Sidewalks 8x8, Printer,
Versafine Onyx Black Ink, YNS Mommy To Be (sentiment), AJVD Fishtail Dies, Button, Hemp Cord, Copics
